October 9th of 2024 in Budapest – The Money Museum attended the European Museum Academy’s (EMA) award ceremony in Cyprus. Last year the museum walked away with the DASA grand prize from this event, thus acknowledging the quality of our permanent exhibition, the user-friendly exhibition space and the high-level of our in-museum education.
This year, the Money Museum registered for the Luigi Micheletti award with its permanent exhibition, “The Path of Money”. This specific award focuses on permanent exhibitions and their narrative and storytelling.
In this category, our institution was ranked in the top five by the panel of 11 international judges. In their assessment of our museum, the judges pointed out that "a visit to the well-managed, highly professional and thoughtfully designed museum is a real experience for visitors".
The Danish Carl Nielsen Museum took this year’s Luigi Micheletti award in the end.
It is a great honour for us that the Money Museum can host the EMA museum conference and award ceremony in 2025.
