The Hungarian Money Museum and Visitor Center has won the bronze medal at the European Cultural Tourism Network (ECTN) Awards. The result was presented by ECTN on 18-21 October 2023 in Paphos, Cyprus, this year's capital of Smart Tourism during the 16th International Conference on Cultural Tourism.
The European Cultural Tourism Network Award is awarded to cultural tourism destinations that have made significant progress in improving the visitor experience. The award recognises examples of excellence that encourage smart and sustainable cultural tourism initiatives.
This is not the first international award that the Money Museum has won in the autumn of 2023. According to the decision of the international jury, the Money Museum also received the Grand Prize of the European Museum Academy (EMA) this September, becoming first Hungarian institution to receive this award. The DASA Award, which recognizes the importance of learning within the museum, recognized the content of our permanent exhibition "The Path of Money" and our effective education inside the museum.
