
28th of June in 2024, Budapest: The Suitcase Museum's Journey Around Money programme was launched on the 15th of September in 2023 with the aim of bringing the Money Museum’s financial education sessions to students in grade and secondary schools, focusing on family budgeting, modern money management, the purchasing power of money, the banking system and lending.
In the 9 months since its launch, the Suitcase Museum has reached 25 000 students in 90 municipalities and 180 institutions, meaning that more than 850 sessions were held in total. This included 70 sessions in 15 disadvantaged municipalities, involving 1,289 students. Of the participants, 30% came from counties in Eastern Hungary and only 35% were students from Budapest-based institutions, the rest were from different parts of the country.
In the summer of 2024, the Suitcase Museum will continue its educational activities in the Elizabeth Camps, reaching even more children.
