Another summer has passed, but this autumn there will be no shortage of programmes for the visitors of the Museum of Money!
From September, the Money Museum will be open again to groups of students, who can take guided tours, or even have an on-site lesson. To make the museum accessible to as many people as possible, from September onwards the museum will be open from 8am once again.
Suitcase Museum
For those who find it difficult to visit the museum, the Money Museum also brings financial education to your door. Launched in 2023, the free 'Suitcase Museum - Journey Around Money' programme aims to make financial education as widely accessible as possible. Over the past year, more than 25,000 students have participated in almost 850 sessions to learn about money.
Robotics education
The good news is that our robotics activities will continue. Robotics education is all about controlling the device. In the session, we define the goal and direction of the robot's movement, for which we create a solution algorithm. In this session, we control Sphero Bolt robots in the shape of a ball using block programming. Sphero BOLT promotes a love of robotics, coding and STEM principles - all through game-based learning. Applications are open to 12–13-year-olds, for a total of 12 people per session.
Terrace Café
Since the weather will be quite pleasant, the autumn programmes will continue high above the city. On the 5th of September from 18:00 on the Panoramic Terrace of the Money Museum, the Terrace Café will be held once again! The new format will focus on financial education, but the talk show will also feature public figures from time to time to talk about money, money management and investments.
Times of the gold-rush
The Coffe House Talks series on the 18th of September from 18:00 is all about the Gold Rush. We will go back in time to January 24, 1848, a date that changed the history of the United States and the mentality of American society. All it took was for James Wilson Marshall to find gold glittering in the river at a Coloma settlement.
Cinema high above the city
Few people can say they are in a historic location. But guests of the Money Museum's Panoramic Terrace on the roof of the almost 100-year-old Postal Office Palace can, since the summer, also enjoy film screenings on the terrace. The Legend of the Gold Train will be screened on the patrician rooftop terrace this autumn. This brave act is also commemorated in the Money Museum's exhibition "The Path of Money", which is worth a visit before or after the screening for more details.
