The Hungarian State Treasury launched the Masterstroke competition in 2015, exactly 10 years ago, with the aim of supporting the development of financial awareness among children and young people through the creation of artworks and raising awareness of the importance of financial literacy. The competition also aims to raise young people's awareness of the Treasury's financial services.

Students could submit their work on two themes, one on what treasures their time capsule could hold and the other on how they imagine the future of modern financial management. The competition attracted entries in a variety of disciplines, from traditional drawings and paintings to collages and videos. Speaking at the award ceremony, Zsolt Demkó-Szekeres, President of the Treasury, stressed that the Treasury, as the largest retail issuer of government securities, attaches great importance to promoting financial literacy among young people, and the Masterstroke competition is a key element of this. The popularity of the competition is demonstrated by the fact that since its launch in 2015, nearly 7,000 entries have been submitted.

The President also drew attention to the fact that this year the Treasury was awarded the Ambassador of Financial Culture of the Hungarian Banking Association title in the institutional category - alongside the Money Museum. Among other things, the Treasury earned the award through the Masterstroke Competition, which combines creativity and financial education.

The three winners in each of the five categories of the competition received vouchers worth HUF 150,000, HUF 100,000 and HUF 50,000 respectively, offered by the Money Museum, and they are redeemable in a technical store.

The list of the winners of the eighth Masterstroke Competition is available on the Treasury’s website, and the winning works can be viewed in person at the Money Museum and on the official Facebook page of the competition at https://www.facebook.com/mesterecsetpalyazat.
